Summer Learning Program at Elbridge Free Library

The program is for children ages 3 – 18 and begins Monday, June 24th and ends Wednesday, August 12th.   For every book read, children will earn one raffle ticket to be eligible to win a final prize.   Extra raffle tickets will be given to teens that participate in special challenges.  All raffle tickets must be turned in by Friday, August 9.  Final prizes will be awarded Wednesday, August 14.

Arts and Crafts with Alyson Espositio.  Please register.

Wednesdays at 10:00 am   Story Time   Enjoy stories, crafts and refreshments.

Wednesday evening programs start at 6:30 pm

July 10th       Zoo To You    6:30 PM   Come face to face with exciting zoo animals from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.  Learn how you can make a difference to wildlife.

July 17th       Jeff the Magic Man    6:30 PM        “Space Adventure” storytelling, by a whimsical personality along with balloon twisting.  Great for all ages.  

July 24th       Dinosaur Dig  6:30 PM  There will be a dinosaur dig site right in the library and you will get a chance to dig and identify real dinosaur bones.  You will learn about fossils and spend time looking at a fossil museum. MUST REGISTER at 315-689-7111.

 July 31st      The MOST    6:30 PM         (Museum of Science and Technology)
                      A Program educator from the MOST will bring an interactive demonstration. For children of all ages.

Aug 7th         Nancy Sander Puppets with Pizazz.   6:30 PM   She will be performing “The Owl and the Pussycat”. Fun adventure with audience participation.

Aug 14th      Dan the Snakeman  6:30 PM  You will gain a better understating of snakes, reptiles and their environments.  You will get to interact with the exotic animals. 

Overdue fines may be waived on a child’s card if child reads 5 books and completes form available from Elbridge Free Library.  Only overdue fines on late items posted before June 25th are eligible.

You can meet the staff, experiment with the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activities, and learn more about the planned summer learning program. Free book giveaway, Library bag, refreshments, games and activities. Michael Carter will be drawing caricatures and balloon sculptures.  Register for summer learning activities.  All are welcome!!

For Children

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
It is never too early to start reading to your child.  To promote reading to newborns, infants and toddlers Elbridge Free Library and Jordan Bramley Library are sponsoring this program.  For each 100 books read, your child will receive a prize.  When they have read and recorded 1000 books, they will receive a T-shirt.  Simply stop by the library to pick up your reading record.  You may read the same book several times. 
One child just received a prize for their first 100 books read.  Congratulations!!!

TECH HELP!  If you need help downloading ebooks, audio books, music, or video, please call or drop by the library with your digital device and we will be happy to assist you.  All are welcome to experience the new hands on STEAM activities that are now available at Elbridge Free Library. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. 

Library To You

Do you enjoy reading, but are unable to come into the library?

Consider trying our free Library To You service. You can choose from a selection of regular print books, large print books, Magazines, DVDs, audiobooks, and other library materials and have them delivered right to your doorstep.

To qualify for Library To You:
• Patrons must be residents of the Jordan-Elbridge School District.
• Patrons must have a disability or condition that restricts their ability to leave their home and come into the library (homebound), or be a senior citizen non-driver.

Once your application is received, a library staff member will contact you to discuss your needs and interests, and if necessary, register you for a library card. After you are accepted into the program, a library employee will deliver materials to your door at no charge.
